Where can I get more general debt advice?
For free independent advice, you can use one of the following resources:
Citizens Advice Bureau provides free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to you on your rights and responsibilities.
Step Change (formerly the Consumer Credit Counselling Service) is a charity that provides FREE debt advice. Call them on: 0800 138 1111.

There are other free sources of advice available and we do not favour any advisory service in particular. There are also several paid debt management companies (DMC’s) that you can go to for advice, but please note that the fees you pay to a DMC may reduce the amount you can set aside to actually repay your debt.
Provided that the terms of our instructions permit, we will always work with your appointed representative; be this a free advisor, a DMC or a friend/family member. However, we will need your prior written authority to do so.
